Statement : Eroticism would be the core to female nude photographs taken by male photographers but I did not want to do that, and I do not think I would be able to take female nude models in the same way as male photographers do, either.  What I am interested is NOT photographs of pretty, naked girls.  But what I want, instead, is photos of girls who are “proper”.  They work hard and enjoy living; they are established in their fields and they made themselves in their own rights; they would not change themselves for guys, and they do whatever they think is right for them; however, they are ultimately just being themselves.  These girls are cool.  We call them Kakkoii Onna in Japanese and they are my objects.  Female readers may find my photos “twisted” or “erotic” and that is cool.  But what I would also like them to feel is those pictures are “interesting”.  In my photographs, the models are doing various things, some of them look silly, and if female readers see them and think: “It is cool to be doing something stupid while being naked. I want this photographer to take pictures of me being naked”, that is what I want.  To me it makes sense.  I feel as though a female photographer using female nude models is a way of discovering and expressing new sexuality in women.  It is a grand gesture.  They are not shying away but, rather, happy showing themselves naked and expressing themselves.  These girls are what I see as Kakkoii Onna.  And I would like to send the message out there that these are the sexy girls that all other girls would be aspired to and would like to find more of; I would like to tell the world that these girls would not be exploited by men as their sexual objects.
